26 May Blog Update: A Right Royal Sight

A beautiful evening out of Plymouth, with a bright blue clear sky and an ocean like a millpond ended with a rather royal sight as the Queen Mary 2 steamed by against the backdrop of the setting sun.

Leaving Plymouth we watched yachts and other boats enjoying the beautiful weather and calm seas, staring out from a window whilst kids onboard were colouring in pictures of dolphins, sharks and fish we sighted two Basking Sharks feeding at the surface right next to the boat – both parents and child rushing over to the window to catch a glimpse. As the sun began to set sending pink and orange rays over the sky an announcement came over the public address system that the Queen Mary 2 would be passing us by.

A rather empty deck was soon bustling with passengers as on the horizon a large ship came into view, five minutes later the luxurious ship was steaming past and passengers who had never met started recalling their stories about the Queen Mary 2. It was a rather royal end to a beautifully sunny day.
